About Devika

As a champion for self advocacy, career advancement and thriving workforces, Devika is driving transformative change in professional development and human capital strategy for underrepresented professionals and their leaders.

Devika's path to becoming an expert in career and leadership development began with her own experiences as a woman of color who had to navigate the barriers of advancing in corporate environments.

Despite her consistent achievements and contributions, Devika was often overlooked for incentives and growth opportunities causing her to feel unworthy of the career she desired. Instead of being defeated by the systems that were not designed for underrepresented professionals to thrive, she created successful frameworks that would enable her, her peers and the people she managed to attain the careers they deserved. After over a decade of working within Fortune 50 corporations like Google and LinkedIn, Devika launched Brij the Gap Consulting to help underrepresented professionals apply strategy to career development and help companies unlock the potential of their workforce.

Today, Devika spends her days partnering with Fortune 500 companies to teach their underrepresented employees and leaders how to thrive in their careers and increase retention of top talent. Outside of her role as CEO of Brij the Gap, Devika is the Co-Founder of Zaka, a professional development platform that enables first and second generation immigrants to receive career advancement education, coaching and strategic networks so they can win professionally. She is also the author of “Thrive in Color: How to Master Self-Advocacy and Command Your Career As An Underrepresented Professional.”, a career advancement playbook for people of color.
